Pining Song

Update 8-30-12 WooHooo! I finally got this painting back from the local gallery and when I get a chance I'm listing it for sale in Etsy.

My flute player lives in the woods. This fox is not his pet, and not yet his friend, but he always listens. While the boy's eyes are closed the fox sits closer. He is playing a pining song...I don't know what the boy is pining for, or the fox, but maybe they will be happier together.

Even though it's summertime, my foxes always have winter coats. maybe I'll try to paint a summer-coat fox...

Ugh...my camera...it kills me. I might post a detail of this...
