Update: I uploaded a new slide I had taken last year. It looks much much better, used a better camera and lighting conditions. Happily I re-present it to you...
Note me for info on prints.
Finished, watercolor and india ink. My technique's a little hap-hazard, and where in "Over There" I used too little color perhaps here I used too much. Any suggestions on watercolor technique would be appreciated. ^^
Stinks taking photos at night, but I did anyway! brightness was fixed but still a little off.
This is still quite nice. The richness of color builds depth and the ink provides emphasis. Watercolor is a tough medium, too. It's immediate and can be used to great effect. But you can't really control its behavior on the surface and you don't have a lot of recourse if things get out of hand. I think you handle it quite well.
The thing I find most interesting is, you're getting the same sort of feel in your oil paintings. No ink, obviously; but your paint handling and color palette work together to give a strong feeling of kinship between your watercolors and your oils.
