The last several weeks have been quite busy. Besides normal work, mural work, a new commission, violin w/the church choir, and having my aunt stay over with us for a week, I've been preparing oodles of prints for an upcoming show. It's an arts/crafts fair, and it'll be my first one of this type. After waiting for the local print shop (and discovering through my own inquiry that their printer was down, for a week and a half!) and getting no where I decided to do my own printing. Sorry to say I won't be able to print as large as I'd like to but at least it is done. I'm midway through cutting mats and mounting board, and I'll need another full day to finish that. Other countless miscellanious items and tasks seem to be left to do. I have a handfull of originals to sell (hopefully, but here I always have mixed feelings!) and those have to be matted and framed...guh. How does everything become concentrated in but a few days? Come Saturday I'd better be ready! The only reason I'm not still cutting mats is that my wrist is tired, and the last thing I want is carpal-tunnel-anything. Violin playing + sore wrist = bad. Somehow this all seems like homework, complete with the looming deadline and endless details. I am very very new at this, and there will be many instances of "oh I should have done that," and it will be a valuable learning experience.
Anyway, I miss being on DA, because I miss you guys. But I should be coming to a clearing soon. Hope you've all been well and generally pursuing your goals and avidly pursing happiness.
Goodnight!

For smaller works, there are alternatives. I was at the Goodwill store and they had a bunch of framed pictures. They were going for $2-$6 and I was sorely tempted to buy up the lot for the frames. They had some weird & wild frames! Some even included mattes. It's the Goodwill store, so that's the way it goes! I left them, but there are always more old, framed pictures. And frames can be painted
And now it's time for me to paint, so be well and more soon!
(So funny the way the little blue guy gets squished!)
